Last week saw the launch of a new website aimed at small businesses looking for alternative sources of funding.
www.thefundingcentre.com is an independently run service that helps SMEs navigate their way around the increasingly complex world of alternative finance – a sector built up around peer-to-peer lending, crowdfunding and online invoice financing.
The new website will not only include a simple funding comparison tool enabling users to compare a wide variety of alternative finance providers, but there will also be a huge amount of content layered on top. From guides to opinion pieces to general SME funding news, The Funding Centre aims to be a thriving hub for prospective fundraisers.
Founder David Stevenson said:
“We believe businesses should go direct to the vast number of new alternative, online funding platforms. At the last count there were hundreds of platforms and products offering everything from short term working capital finance through to long term equity. The choice is huge, arguably there’s too much, and businesses need sound, editorially led, independent guidance to help navigate their way around this constantly evolving space.”
Unlike some rivals, www.thefundingcentre.com is not controlled by any platform in the industry and highlights all available funding providers that have completed a detailed fact find.
Set up by the professionals behind industry leading website www.altfi.com, the news and views website looks to champion new platforms and products to help businesses grow.
Ryan Weeks, Editor of AltFi News, commented:
"We feel as though we're in an ideal position to deliver the supreme resource for businesses looking to navigate their way around the flourishing but complex alternative finance space. As an editorial hub, we show no preference towards specific providers.
“Indeed, we have cast our net quite widely in terms of the style of funders that are integrated into the Funding Centre machine. Prospective borrowers can sort their way through peer-to-peer lenders, equity crowdfunders, online invoice financiers, direct lenders, merchant cash advance providers and so on.
“With a steady stream of educational content being fed into the site via AltFi News, from our connections across the global alternative finance sector, from keen market observers like PwC and from an array of SME finance experts - we hope to create the ultimate resource for small businesses in need of an alternative source of funding."
Uniquely, The Funding Centre is also rolling out a series of complimentary, alternative finance events around the country including a jointly hosted Working Capital Bootcamp on the 20th July with PWC at their Embankment offices.
