Tandem is launching a dedicated resource hub to tackle both the climate crisis and the cost-of-living crisis.
Digital challenger bank Tandem is launching a new consumer-focused hub to help promote its mission of greener living.
‘Tandem Marketplace’ will provide customers with information and resources, falling in line with Tandem’s goal of being the UK’s greener digital bank.
In line with the bank’s focus on supporting customers to make “greener financial choices”, the first phase of the marketplace will give people information on retrofitting their homes.
The hub will connect users to Tandem’s home improvement partners to try to help them take climate action while also saving on energy bills.
“We are in the middle of a climate crisis and a cost-of-living crisis. People shouldn’t have to choose between heating and eating,” Tandem chief impact and marketing officer Georgina Whalley said.
“This is why we have created our Marketplace, people need more information and support to make greener choices.”
Almost 19 million Brits are unaware, uninformed, unwilling or unsupported on how to approach greener living, according to Tandem research.
While many consumers do want to make “more environmental” choices, around 25 per cent don’t think they need to change or don’t know where to start.
Tandem is hoping to change this by providing more information and empowering customers to make their homes more sustainable.
The hub will act as a starting place for customers to find out what they can do, and how they can even save money in the long term by making their homes more sustainable.
“Our new Marketplace starts to fill [the information] gap and provides a dedicated resource to help people take action and ultimately save money on energy bills,” Whalley added.
The Marketplace will also give users access to tools such as an energy performance certificate (EPC) checker to help guide users in understanding and improving their EPC.
