Funding Circle have eclipsed the industry record for monthly P2P volume originations, a record which was previously held by Zopa with £58.3m in loan financing. The platform is on course to surpass £1bn in cumulative financing before year-end with £44.3m in lending required in December to hit the milestone, and with it the triumph of becoming only the second marketplace lending platform in the UK to do so.

Whilst the invoice financing sector has not yet reached the heights of October in terms of invoices traded, an interesting trend has emerged in YoY growth figures. During July 2014 – November 2014 the sector experienced a general decline in monthly volume, whilst the reverse has been true for 2015 over a similar time frame. A factor contributing to this may be a changing SME mix now served by the leading players in this segment of the P2P market, which previously may have been concentrated on seasonal businesses.
Moving onto institutional activity in the peer-to-peer lending industry, AltFi Investor recently released a report looking into the performance of various P2P funds and how they stack against other alternative investment funds.
