Fintech lender Spotcap launches a new content hub in national newspaper.
For the next three months, direct lending platform Spotcap will be paying for a new section on The Guardian’s website. The “Business Breakthroughs” content hub aims to put UK small and medium sized businesses in the spotlight.
It is located on The Guardian’s new online business-to-business section, which covers a range of topics including growing businesses, entrepreneurs, responsible leadership, technology and work life balance.
“At Spotcap we have a clear commitment to UK business owners,” said Niels Turfboer (pictured), managing director at Spotcap UK. “We are proud to stand alongside them and work with them to provide business loans that help move their businesses forward.”
Spotcap is a direct lending platform which also makes it technology available for licencing by incumbent banks. In January, the firm struck its first lending-as-a-service partnership with Bawag Group, a leading Austrian bank.
The Business Breakthroughs hub, now live, currently features two stories. The first is about a UK eyewear company, the second about a music channel. The comments of Claire Burke, editor of Guardian B2B, would suggest that many if not all of the features will highlight Spotcap customers.
More generally, the features will aim to address issues such as engaging with social media influencers, managing legal and accounting costs, new business lines and sourcing capital.
