Revolut team ups with WeWork

The new partnership will provide Revolut for Business customers with 3 months free of hot-desk space at a WeWork co-working space.

Fintech unicorn Revolut has launched a new partnership with WeWork, another tech unicorn, to provide it’s business customers with free workspace at one of the firm's many co-working spaces.

Revolut for Business, which now has over 80,000 businesses signed up for its account service, will give its customers up to three months free hot-desk space at a WeWork.

Revolut says its is signing up “hundreds” of businesses per day and expects that number to grow significantly as they expand into new global markets with launches in the US, Canada, Singapore, Japan, Australia and New Zealand planned in early 2019.

Jamie Devlin, Head of Business Development at Revolut said: “We’re delighted that through our exciting collaboration with WeWork, companies and freelancers using our next generation business accounts will be able to build and grow in WeWork’s beautiful workspaces, saving so much time and money in the process.”

WeWork and Revolut are - somewhat - linked already through Softbank with the latter heavily funded by the investor through several rounds of fundraisin and Revolut recently tipped, according to media reports, to be looking to a mega-round in 2019 led by Softbank.

Revolut for Business allows customers to open an account in 24 currencies, with free international payments, local accounts, seamless corporate cards and an Open API for those looking to automate their business banking.

Revolut, launched in July 2015, has raised approximately $340m from venture capital firms including Index Ventures, Ribbit Capital, Balderton Capital and DST Global. It says it is currently opening over 9,000 new current accounts each day and processing over $4bn in volumes each month.

WeWork, co-founded by Adam Neumann and Miguel McKelvey in 2010, has over 9,000 employees and has over 400,000 people using its network of co-working spaces.
