Lisa Nowell will report into Monzo CEO Tom Blomfield.
Monzo has appointed ClearBank's Chief Risk and Compliance Officer as its new Chief Risk Officer.
Lisa Nowell took on the role at Monzo earlier this month.
Before joining Monzo, Nowell spent six months at ClearBank as its Chief Risk and Compliance Officer.
Prior to that, Nowell spent three years at Masthaven Bank and she has also held senior audit roles at Barclays and Royal Bank of Scotland.
“I’m thrilled to have joined Monzo and I’m really excited to be part of an amazing team that will take the bank through the next phase of growth and beyond," said Nowell on her appointment.
The Chief Risk Officer role is not a new one at Monzo, several staff have held the role on an interim basis and Ruth Doubleday was most recently in the post for around a year.
The Chief Risk Officer role spans operations, technology, conduct and credit risk.
The role reports to Monzo CEO Tom Blomfield and the Chairman of Monzo's risk committee.
The appointment of Nowell comes at the same time as the digital bank appointed its first-ever Head of Diversity and Inclusion.
Deloitte consultant Sheree Atcheson is joining Monzo as Head of Diversity and Inclusion.
