London-based financial management app Emma has completed a $2.5m fundraise led by Connect Ventures and with the help of Ithaca Investments, Tiny.vc and Aglaé Ventures.

Connect Ventures has previously led seed rounds for fintech companies like Curve, the all-your-cards-in-one fintech, API banking platform Truelayer and infographics company Infogram.

Emma quietly launched in the UK as US fintech Plaid’s first UK venture back in 2019.

In a statement posted to its website, Edoardo Moreni, Emma’s CEO and co-founder, said: “In the past two years, we have been able to attract 200,000+ people who believed an app like Emma should be their day to day money management tool.”

“This investment will allow us to double our team, bring 1 million people to Emma and build the next plethora of incredible features.”

Moreni also added at the bottom of the post a link to their job page as the company is “actively hiring.”

Emma secured approval from the FCA to operate as a Registered Account Information Service Provider following a beta testing round in 2018.
Last summer Emma also launched in the US, joining the ever-growing list of UK fintechs pursuing US domination.
