iZettle and logistics platform Stuart have today announced a partnership to offer SMEs remote payment and delivery services during the lockdown.

The collaboration will help smaller businesses who don’t have an online shop or presence on third-party marketplaces to keep trading and selling everyday essential items throughout the pandemic.

SMEs can now accept customer orders over the phone, online and on social media helping them to keep going despite the current situation, and then merchants can use Stuart’s platform to arrange for delivery in more than 20 cities across the UK.

iZettle then completes the sale by allowing users to invoice customers remotely using its online payment portal, Payment Links, which allows merchants to create a one-time link to send to their customers either by text message, WhatsApp, social media or email.

Jacob de Geer, co-founder of iZettle, said: “Small businesses are the backbone of the economy and we’re committed to supporting them today, tomorrow and for years to come.”

“Coming together as an industry and collaborating is more important now than ever and we’re thrilled to partner with Stuart to help our merchants access the essential tools they need.”

David Saenz, COO of Stuart, added: “We are pleased to have teamed up with iZettle to help independent merchants continue trading during this unprecedented period. We hope consumers will continue to support their local businesses, purchasing essential products that can be paid for and delivered in a safe way.”

The joint initiative from iZettle and Stuart follows a successful launch across the channel in France that was backed by the country’s Economy Minister Bruno Le Marie.
