Roxana Howlett has twice won the Habito-sponsored Skateboarding National Championship.
You wouldn’t think that mortgages and skateboarding go hand in hand, but clearly, Habito knows something we don’t.
Digital mortgage provider Habito has signed a six-month partnership deal with 11-year-old skateboarding savant Roxana Howlett.
The new ambassador will impart her knowledge and skills to the local skating community and will mentor an up-and-coming skater in her native Devon.
Howlett says she is “hyped” to be working with Habito, with the skater first making her way onto Habito’s radar after the proptech sponsored the Skateboarding National Championship in April of this year.
“It is such an important year for skateboarding and Habito is a great supporter of the sport as they sponsored the Nationals which I won earlier this year. I’m excited to be their ambassador for the next 6 months and mentor another new young skater,” she went on.
The partnership has been announced just two days before the Tokoyo Olympics is set to kick off, where skateboarding will make its highly-anticipated debut.
“We’re so proud to be adding even more fuel to the skateboarding fire, in what is shaping up to be a massive year for the sport. Rox is a powerhouse of talent, energy and community spirit and her future is incredibly bright,” Abba Newbery, chief marketing officer at Habito added.
“I’m delighted that we can play a part in shining a spotlight on this amazing sport, help Rox on her stellar trajectory and kick-start her mentorship of the next generation of skateboarders.”
Howlett first started skating when she was just six years old, going on to win multiple competitions, including at the Skateboarding National Championship in 2020 and 2021, when Habito sponsored the event.
Since launching in 2016 (the same year that Howlett launched her skateboarding career), Habito has helped more than 500,000 people better understand their mortgage needs and submitted more than £6.9bn worth of mortgages.
