OpenPayd hires ex WorldPay and Yolt exec as new head of product

As it continues to build out its embedded finance tools, OpenPayd has made a major new hire.

OpenPayd, a payments and banking-as-a-service platform, has hired Daniel Belda as its new head of product strategy.

Belda will oversee the product team at OpenPayd, which is active in building embedded finance and BaaS products.

Through its APIs, fintechs and other businesses can embed financial services into their products. Customers can access accounts, FX, international and domestic payments, acquiring and open banking services globally via a single API integration with licensing across the UK, Europe, Canada taken care of. 

Prior to joining OpenPayd, Belda spent just under five years in senior positions at Worldpay, which included developing a domestic acquiring solution for the Brazilian market. He left the business as VP of Digital Content and Gaming. 

He also led expansion for Open Banking provider Yolt, where he supported the rollout of its e-money account and debit card. 

“Payments are changing - from the methods to the companies facilitating them and embedded finance is the driving force behind this change,” said Belda.
