The digital bank will sponsor visas, fast-track, and fund the relocation of Ukrainian candidates coming to work at Zopa in the UK.
London-based lender Zopa has pledged new support measures for Ukrainian candidates applying for jobs at Zopa in the UK.
These measures come in response to the catastrophic events ongoing in the country, as war continues to rage with Russia.
Following announcements last week by the UK Home Secretary, Priti Patel, around visa concessions for Ukrainian nationals, Zopa has confirmed it stands ready, with immediate effect, to sponsor up to 50 working visas for eligible applicants in the UK, as well as fast-track the relocation of Ukrainians wishing to join their family members in the UK.
The bank will also provide a relocation allowance of one month’s salary for citizens who have received the right to work in the UK.
“We are working with the Ukrainian Embassy in London and Ambassador, Vadym Prystaiko, to facilitate the process and encourage fellow members of our tech and fintech communities to extend their support,” said Zopa CEO, Jaidev Janardana.
Since launching with a banking licence just 18 months ago, the fintech unicorn has attracted £1bn in deposits, more than £1bn of loans, and become one of the top five credit card issuers in the UK.
“Our thoughts are with all those enduring catastrophic loss of life and human suffering but also with those in our own community who have been touched by the conflict, especially those with families in the region,” added Janardana.
