Eleven UK fintech companies have landed in Australia to build connections with local businesses and governments.

Sent on a special government trade mission, the selected companies will represent the British fintech industry at the Intersekt Festival, hosted by Fintech Australia and supported by the Victorian Government.

The weeklong tour will see companies including CurrencyCloud, Clear Bank and QV Systems present to conference delegates and senior officials from both Australia and New Zealand.

Seven members of the delegation will also have a change to pitch to EY consultants, partners and guests from the financial services community.

“Australia and New Zealand are home to some of the most innovative and disruptive financial services firms in the world, and we’re very excited to participate in this visit, to learn about market trends and discuss ways to partner on key projects,” QV Systems founder and CEO Daniel Layne said.

“Being here on the ground gives us a real insight into the needs of the local market and helps us better understand how we can collaborate with fast-growing firms.”

The eleven companies are set to hear from senior figures about the Australian fintech landscape and recent policy developments and discuss how they can work closely to build relationships.
