Andreas Wilgen is a managing director at Fitch ratings and head of Fitch's Asset Backed Securities (ABS) group for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). This group of 12+ analysts is responsible for assigning and monitoring credit ratings on consumer and commercial ABS, Asset Backed Commercial Paper conduits and securitisations from EMEA emerging markets. Andreas oversees the development of rating criteria, research and transaction analysis across the sector. This includes interaction with a variety of market participants and particularly investors. Between 2008 and 2010 Andreas was a member of Fitch’s Structured Finance Credit Officer Group for EMEA and APAC – a team dedicated to ensuring high quality analysis is completed to support the agency’s portfolio of ratings in this area. Prior to that, Andreas headed a team within Fitch’s London structured credit group that focussed on cashflow arbitrage collateralised debt obligations (CDOs). Andreas began his career at Fitch in April 2005 after having earned the degree of Diplom-Kaufmann at the University of Cologne and an MBA from Eastern Illinois University.
