As Chairman and CEO of Oasis Capital Corp, Chodes is a pioneer in developing and building marketplace lending platforms, both in the consumer and commercial finance sectors. In recent years, he has founded and managed Raiseworks (micro-lending to small business), Oasis Legal Finance (financial services for individuals with pending legal claims) and Paylink Payment Plans (payment processing and financing for consumers purchasing auto warranties). In addition, Chodes built several innovative insurance technology businesses. As President and founder of Viaticus, which provides liquidity for affluent individuals, he created a new secondary market for life insurance. He built and eventual sold the business to CNA Insurance, part of Loews Corporation (NYSE:L). Chodes also helped launch one of the first on-line small business insurance portals, Insurance Vianet - which was sold to Willis Group Holdings plc (NYSE:WSH). Chodes serves on the board and executive committee of American Consumer Lending, a leading purchaser of peer-to-peer consumer loans from U.S originators, and National Property REIT, a large owner of multi-family housing in in the US. Both are affiliated with publicly traded BDC Prospect Capital Corporation (NYSE:PSEC).
