Richard Fossett, co-founder and CEO of TradeRiver, set up the business in 2011 to fill a gap after the 2008 financial crisis. As banks became more cautious in their lending, Richard felt that perfectly viable SMEs experiencing high levels of growth weren’t being given the support they required to grow. With his experience and knowledge, Richard worked with his co-founders to develop a product which would make trade finance easier for UK-based businesses looking to import goods to the UK quickly, easily and more simply. Richard is focused on the strategic development of the business and establishing strategic partnerships. He keeps in tune with business challenges through his management of specific key accounts. Richard has extensive knowledge and experience of the global credit insurance market and has formed close relationships with all the major insurers. Prior to setting up TradeRiver, Richard was COO of a Bahrain-based USD 400 million turnover UK-listed trade finance company.
